Corn on the Blob

Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to the most amazing sideshow attraction you’ll ever see! Before your very eyes, you will witness a nation of unsuspecting and ill-informed consumers being turned into overweight and obese humans – right before your very eyes!

It is absolutely amazing how little opposition exists in America regarding the use of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) as a sweetener. It is widely used commercially in many of the food items that we consume everyday – soft drinks, confections, cakes, and snack foods, to name but a few.

If manufacturers are using it so extensively, it must be better than just using sugar, correct? Wrong! It is far less expensive to use than refined sugar. And, it is far more harmful to your health.

Researchers at Princeton University conducted experiments on the hazards of HFCS consumption. Over a six month period, two groups of rats were studied. One group ate regular rat chow, while the second group ate food rich in HFCS.

The second group showed considerable weight gain, especially the male rats. Males consuming an HFCS-rich diet gained 48% more weight than the male rats eating normally. In human terms, that would be the equivalent of a 200 pound male gaining 96 pounds.

It is no wonder that the US is #1 globally in terms of an obese population. This nation has the highest consumption rate of snack foods per capita, with soft drinks leading the list. As a result, the number of Diabetics, caused by obesity, has grown to staggering proportions.

Amongst other damage caused by Diabetes is deterioration of blood vessels, initially in the feet and eyes. The lack of blood circulation in the feet can often prove extremely harmful, as it is accompanied by a lack of sensation. If one were to receive a foot injury, they might not notice until infection sets in. Unfortunately, the interrupted circulation could make treatment via antibiotics difficult or impossible, as the blood is unable to transport the medication.

As such, Diabetics must take special care of their feet, lest a small injury become a major catastrophe.

Wearing Diabetic Socks by Jobst and Juzo is highly recommended to provide a higher level of care and comfort. Diabetic Socks are made from cotton blend material with special anti-microbial properties to help prevent bacteria-causing perspiration build-up. The stretch tops are non-binding to allow maximum circulation. The socks are seamless, as perspiration tends to pool in folds of socks. The extra thickness provides a high degree of comfort and helps prevent chafing and blisters.

Obesity can be prevented. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Avoid products that contain HFCS. Even regular sugar is far less harmful and less fattening. (If enough consumers started a boycott of HFCS products, manufacturers would reconsider its use).

If you are suffering from Diabetes, see your doctor regularly and wear Diabetic Socks by Jobst and Juzo to help protect your feet.
